Questions manufacturers ask about VenturusEAM

What it is and who it is for, how it differs from a CMMS, how it works with your ERP and general ledger, which depreciation methods it runs, what VenturusAI does with your data, how it is delivered, and how pricing works.

The product

What is VenturusEAM?

Enterprise asset management software for manufacturers. It keeps every asset's purchase, maintenance, parts and books on one record, from the purchase order to disposal. The modules cover capital projects, purchasing, receiving and payables, the asset register, the plant floor, parts and inventory, work orders and preventive maintenance, reliability, quality and calibration, fixed-asset books, depreciation and tax, and period close.

Who is it for?

Manufacturers that want maintenance, purchasing and finance working from the same asset record. Maintenance managers plan and close work orders, reliability engineers track failures, MTBF and MTTR, buyers and receivers take requisitions through to three-way match, and controllers run depreciation and close the period, all against the same asset.

What is the difference between a CMMS and an EAM?

A CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) manages maintenance work: requests, work orders, preventive schedules and spare parts. An EAM covers the whole life of the asset, from the capital project and the purchase order that bought it, through maintenance and reliability, to the fixed-asset books, depreciation and disposal. VenturusEAM does both, so what it costs to keep a machine running and the value it carries on the books sit on one record.

Your ERP and your books

Does it replace our ERP?

No. VenturusEAM runs alongside your ERP and takes the asset side of the business: purchasing and receiving for maintenance and capital spend, the asset register, maintenance and reliability, and the fixed-asset books. It connects to virtually any ERP through its SQL database or API, and to your other systems through a REST API, signed outbound webhooks and inbound events, and every journal entry exports to CSV or Excel.

How does it post to our general ledger?

Each company has its own books-of-record ledger with an eight-segment accounting key. Receipts, vendor invoices, work-order labor, depreciation, capitalization and disposals each post a balanced journal entry, and every journal line links to the document that created it. Each depreciation book maps to its own cost, accumulated depreciation, expense, gain, loss, clearing and CIP accounts, and exactly one book per company posts, so depreciation is never booked twice.

Which depreciation methods does it support?

Straight line, 200% and 150% declining balance, sum-of-the-years'-digits, units of production, amortization and non-depreciable, with ten first-period conventions plus mid-quarter and modified half-year. Each company can keep financial, tax and management books side by side. For US tax there is a MACRS tax book with Section 179 and bonus depreciation, a Form 4562 worksheet and a book-to-tax difference report. For Canada there are CCA classes with a UCC roll-forward and Schedule 8 figures.

VenturusAI and your data

What does VenturusAI do, and who approves it?

It drafts, suggests and explains. It answers plain-English questions from your own records, suggests the priority, failure code, craft and steps on a work request, drafts the work order, suggests a purchase order for an unmatched receipt and explains why a receipt is held. A person approves every action, and each one is written to the audit log on behalf of the person who asked, with the words used, the model version and the confidence.

Is our data used to train AI models, and what can the AI see?

Your data is never used to train AI models. VenturusAI sees only the companies and sites the person asking is assigned to, pay rates are never included, and each AI service stays switched off and sends nothing until your administrator turns it on.

Delivery and going live

Is it SaaS or on-premises?

VenturusEAM is delivered as SaaS on Microsoft Azure, with an on-premises option for companies that want to run it on their own infrastructure. It is the same product either way.

Can we import our existing asset list?

Yes. Download the Excel template, fill it in from your current register and upload it. The import workbench checks every row, including in-service date, depreciation method, useful life, salvage value, and site, department and location codes, and shows each error with its reason so you can fix it before anything is saved. Opening accumulated depreciation is converted into the ledger with a cross-foot check.

How long does it take to go live?

Four to six weeks for the base modules. The exact time depends on how many sites and assets you bring over and how clean your current register is. Ledger posting can stay switched off until your controller is ready, so maintenance and purchasing can start work while finance checks the opening balances.

Pricing

How much does VenturusEAM cost?

Pricing comes from sales and is set for each company. Contact sales and a person replies within one business day with a written proposal.
