Quality and calibration records next to your maintenance

VenturusEAM keeps your gauges, fixtures, control plans, first article reports, welding procedures and safety data sheets in the same system as your assets and technicians. Calibration runs as a work order on a schedule, and every gauge, welder and chemical shows whether it is current, due soon or overdue.

Calibration work order

  • WO-24856 for HG-0004 is scheduled with S. Kim on Thursday.
  • An out-of-tolerance result opens a follow-up on the parts it measured.

Gauges and fixtures with their calibration status

One tooling register holds gauges, fixtures, jigs and cutting tools with the owner, crib location and metrology details such as range, resolution, accuracy and uncertainty. Calibration intervals set the next due date, calibration runs as a work order from a PM template, and an out-of-tolerance result opens a follow-up on the work that gauge measured.

  • Tooling register

One register of gauges, fixtures, jigs and cutting tools with owner, crib location and whether each is controlled.

  • Gauge calibration status

Every gauge shows its last calibration, next due date and whether it is OK, due within 30 days or overdue.

  • Calibration schedules with out-of-tolerance follow-up

Calibration intervals set the next due date automatically, and an out-of-tolerance result opens a follow-up for affected work.

  • Gauge metrology details

Record each gauge's serial number, measuring range, resolution, accuracy, traceability source and measurement uncertainty.

  • Fixture inspection due dates

Governed fixtures show when their next inspection is due and flag non-conforming inspection results.

  • Calibration work orders

Calibration is a work order type, so instrument calibration can be scheduled from PM templates like any other job.

Control plans and first article inspection

The characteristic library holds each requirement with its GD&T callout, inspection method, balloon number and the gauge used. First article reports pick from that library, move from draft to approved, and cannot be approved by the person who submitted them, in line with AS9102.

  • First article inspection reports

Create an FAI for a part, record each ballooned characteristic and its result, then submit it for sign-off.

  • Inspection characteristic library

A library of the characteristics you inspect, with requirement, GD&T callout, inspection method and the gauge used.

  • Control plans

Control plans list what to check on each part, how and how often, with revision, status and effective date.

  • FAI sign-off by a second person

The person who approves a first article report cannot be the person who submitted it, in line with AS9102.

  • FAI risk score

Each first article report gets a risk score from its non-conforming characteristics and status, so the riskiest reports are reviewed first.

Welding procedures and welder continuity

Every welding procedure specification is kept with its process, governing code, P-numbers, F-numbers, positions and PQR reference. Welder qualifications show whether each is active, due soon, lapsed for lack of use, expired, suspended or revoked, and welders are the same people as your technician list.

  • Welding procedure register

Keep every welding procedure specification with its process, governing code, materials, positions and qualified welders.

  • Welder qualifications with continuity tracking

Each welder's qualifications show whether they are active, due soon, lapsed for lack of use, expired, suspended or revoked.

Safety data sheets and restricted chemicals

The SDS register holds every chemical on site with its hazard class, signal word, PPE, storage rules and the stocked item it belongs to. Review dates are tracked per sheet, and restricted, phasing-out and banned chemicals are blocked so nobody reorders them by mistake.

  • Safety data sheet register

Keep every chemical on site with its safety data sheet, hazard class, signal word, PPE and storage rules in one register.

  • SDS review due dates

Each safety data sheet shows its revision and when it is next due for review, with overdue and due-within-60-days counts.

  • Restricted and banned chemicals

Chemicals marked restricted, phasing out or banned are flagged so they are not reordered by mistake.

Common questions

Does first article inspection follow AS9102?

Yes. Each report records the ballooned characteristics and their results, moves from draft to submitted to approved, and refuses an approval from the person who submitted it. Every change is audit-logged.

How is calibration scheduled?

Calibration is a work order type, so it runs from PM templates on an interval like any other job. The interval sets the next due date, and each gauge shows OK, due within 30 days or overdue.

How do you track welder continuity?

A qualification lapses when the welder has not used the process for about six months, as AWS D1.1 and ASME IX require. Hard expiry dates from the certifying body are tracked separately.

Is customer-owned tooling tracked?

Yes. Customer-owned gauges and fixtures are marked and counted in the tooling register, alongside your own controlled tooling.

The plant never stops. Neither does the record.

Bring an asset list and a month of work orders. We will load them and walk through your own plant in VenturusEAM, from the purchase order to the depreciation run.
