Fixed assets and month-end close for the controller
Every receipt, invoice, work order and capital project posts to the ledger as it happens, so the numbers you close on come from the plant floor. Depreciation runs on your books, seven checks run before a period locks, and any figure traces back to the document that caused it.

What changes for you
The ledger fills itself from the plant
Receipts post an accrual, invoices clear it, and work orders post labor and parts as they are recorded. You stop chasing spreadsheets from maintenance and purchasing because the entries are already there.

Depreciation runs on your books and rules
Each company keeps its own books with its methods and conventions. You preview the run, see each asset’s schedule, and post it once you are satisfied.

Coding problems surface before close
The GL exceptions page counts every known coding problem and links each one to its journal. You fix them during the month, not on the last day.

Close is a checked, ordered run
Seven pre-flight checks show pass, warn or fail with the detail behind each. The close posts depreciation, re-checks the trial balance and GR/IR, locks the period and keeps a close packet with it.

Every number traces back to its source
Type an asset or journal number and walk from the asset to its project, its costs and its depreciation entries. Your auditors get the same trail, with every change recorded.

Common questions
Which depreciation methods does VenturusEAM support?
Straight line, declining balance, sum-of-years digits and units of production, with half-year, mid-month and mid-quarter conventions. A tax book can run MACRS alongside the financial book.
Can a closed period be posted to by mistake?
No. A closed period refuses postings from every module. Reopening it takes a reason and the right role, and both are recorded.
How do maintenance costs reach the general ledger?
Labor and parts post when they are recorded on the work order, using the accounts set for the asset and the cost center. Every entry carries a link back to the work order that caused it.
Does it work across more than one company?
Yes. Each company keeps its own books, fiscal calendar and functional currency, and consolidation brings them together for reporting.
The plant never stops. Neither does the record.
Bring an asset list and a month of work orders. We will load them and walk through your own plant in VenturusEAM, from the purchase order to the depreciation run.
